A very warm welcome to the Paignton Photographic Club Web site, which is here to explain the Club's activities. We are now in our 51st year. When the club was founded in 1958 it was known as the Photo-Colour Society of South Devon. (when the only interest was in colour transparencies)
In 2002 the name was changed to the Paignton Photographic Club in order to become inclusive of prints and digital work.
We are a friendly club providing plenty of help and advice for all our members, with practical evenings, competitions and opportunities to review the work of visiting photographers
If you are you interested in improving your photography - whether prints, slides, audio/visual, or digital - we can help you with
- advice
- encouragement
- example
- inspiration
- visiting photographers showing their photographs and explaining how they were taken
- illustrated talks on particular topics, often travel related
- slide shows of excellent photographs from international exhibitions
- slide shows of photographs from competitions between other clubs in the region
- groups of members showing and talking about their photographs
- the opportunity - purely optional – to enter club competitions and receive helpful comments from experienced judges on the results night
- the chance to develop your digital image manipulation skills with expert help
The Club meets each Monday from September to May at the Methodist Church Hall, Palace Avenue, Paignton, Devon.
Meetings start at 7.30, with the night’s event lasting two hours or so with a break for tea or coffee.
Prospective members are warmly welcome to attend two or three meetings to see if the Club meets your photographic needs. Membership is then only £30 a year. As a member you can get involved as much or as little as you like.
